Thirty-six years ago today a little tike was born that would later grow up to become one of the funniest comedians of my generation. His name was David Khari Webber Chappelle or Dave Chappelle to his adoring public.

For over a decade, Chappelle has warmed the hearts and shaken the world with his ability to make people laugh through parody and observation.

Today, let us celebrate a comedian who’s groundbreaking hit comedy series Chappelle’s Show gave insights into a culture that is often misunderstood and stereotyped to death. From the classic Robin Hood: Men in Tights to Half Baked, Chappelle never fails to entertain.
