Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison

Aaron Sorkin is inching closer to casting The Social Network Part II, and if the rumors are true, things just got a whole lot juicier. According to Deadline, sources close to the acclaimed screenwriter say Mikey Madison (Anora) and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) are his top picks to lead the long-gestating sequel.

Nothing’s official yet, but Sorkin would be cooking with hot grease if he locks in this pairing. Madison has a way of playing characters with a dangerous mix of vulnerability and bite, and White’s tense, brooding style feels tailor-made for Sorkin’s ping-pong dialogue about power and ethics.

But to keep it all the way real: this movie still kind of lives or dies on whether Jesse Eisenberg returns as Mark Zuckerberg. His cold, slightly alien performance in the original gave the movie its chilly pulse, and without him, the connective tissue to Fincher’s classic gets thin fast. But adding Madison and White makes this sequel feel a lot less like a nostalgia grab and more like an opportunity to burn the whole “tech messiah” mythos to the ground.

And there’s plenty of scorched-earth material to play with in The Facebook Files. Remember those leaked internal reports showing how Instagram made body image issues worse for teens, and how execs knew and did basically nothing? Or the “cross-check” system that let politicians and influencers skate past content moderation rules while everyone else got their posts yanked?

Those stories were jaw-dropping in print. Now imagine them turned into a whip-smart, talk-fast courtroom showdown or a tense newsroom drama. If Sorkin does it right, this could feel less like a sequel and more like a reckoning for the platform that rewired the entire internet.
