Hi! I’m Desiree “Danger” Bowie, the mastermind behind dozens of semi-clever Letterboxd reviews, TikTok comments and this prolific film and TV site. Beyond that, I’ve written for Netflix, The Disney Channel (sadly, not Camp Rock), MasterClass, Ebony, The Recording Academy and two defunct online magazines (sigh). In recent years, I’ve begun flexing my profile muscle: For Grammy.com, I’ve interviewed Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi, GloRilla (“It’s 7PM Friday, it’s 95 degrees”) and Fast X composer Brian Tyler. 

As you may have guessed, I am a movie and TV lover and a proud member of the AMC A-List. And I am doing my part to keep cinema alive until Christopher Nolan can save Hollywood again in July 2026. (If AI hasn’t taken over and going to the movies is still legal 🙏🏾.) 

I’ve been hooked on movies since I caught A Nightmare on Elm Street way too young on broadcast TV (shout out to ’90s KCOP). These days, I gravitate toward revenge flicks, quirky comedies, bleak indies and anything Danny McBride writes. I also have a soft spot for raunchy comedies, British gangster films, any movie featuring Tom Hardy and behind-the-scenes trivia.

With this site, I aim to highlight great movies and shows, particularly those that often slip through the cracks due to brief theatrical runs, sporadic streaming or bad word of mouth.
